-stories should be based on the character, think of an interesting character and a situation that could cause conflict
-you should be able to writes pages about the character and their setting before you are able to create a solid narrative
-always ask for feedback
-look at the main character from the perspectives from other characters, that way it is easier to see flaws in the character and the story
